Frequently asked questions

What do I need to set up a home shrine?

Traditionally a shrine holds a representation of the Buddha's body (a statue or thangka), speech (a practice text) and mind (a stupa), with simple offerings such as water bowls, a light and incense in front. It is fine to start simply and add over time.

Where do your ritual items come from?

Our items come from trusted vendors in Nepal, India and Vietnam, each authorized by our Foundation team. Our incense is made at Dudjom Dundul Raptenling Monastery in Odisha, India.

Should ritual items be consecrated?

Statues and treasure vases are traditionally consecrated before use. Some of our items are consecrated by Lama Sonam Tashi Rinpoche, as noted on the product page; for others, you can ask your own teacher or a local monastery.

Where does the money from my purchase go?

Proceeds support the monks of Dudjom Dundul Raptenling Monastery and the Dharma projects of the Vajra Lotus Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Purchases are not tax-deductible donations.
