Frequently asked questions
What is a kangling?
The kangling is a Tibetan ritual trumpet used in Chöd practice. Traditionally it was made from a human thighbone; ours are made from wood with metal fittings, or from copper and brass, with no bone.
Which kangling should I choose?
Choose the wooden kangling with brocade case for everyday practice and travel, the engraved-metal kangling for a more ornate piece, or the ceremonial copper and brass kangling for a striking shrine instrument.
Do I need a teacher to practice Chöd?
Chöd is traditionally practiced after receiving empowerment and instruction from a qualified teacher, who will also show you how to use the kangling.
